Le Stewala - Reservar uma mesa

For our last night in Alsace, we chose Le Stewala and were very pleased that we did. It's not the cheapest in town, but I'm sure it's the best.We shared a mixed salad starter - everyone must, surely, as it's far too much for one (and priced accordingly). Don't hesitate to do this: our friendly and accommodating waiter was happy to bring two plates to our table and to other's (Madame being given the job of dividing it in both cases!). This was indeed a salad but also so much more - foie gras, asparagus, parmesan, salmon. It was very quiet on the evening we went, in fact for most of the time we were the only ones there, but the waiter was very friendly and attentive and made us feel very welcome. We had the rognons de veau (which were amazing!!) with local spezli (cross between noodles and shredded pancake) and duck. All the food was prepared and cooked on the premises and was fantastic, accompanied by a bottle of very nice Vacqueryas wine. Would definitely recommend a visit to this lovely little restaurant.

The food is fantastic and the atmosphere and service is great. We'd guess it's run by the owners, but there was one very busy very friendly lady at the front of house and one chap in the kitchen turning out incredible food. It's all typical alsacian food but with really care and attention and a modern twist (without being pretentious). Highly recommend and you need to book. Definitely deserves its number 1 spot in Turckheim.

We have stayed in Alsace for almost one week and the food at Le Stewala was by far the best we have had so far.

We enjoyed our food here, but I feel that for 190 euros for 4 people, we should have really been blown away.
