Le Vieux Chalet - Reservar uma mesa

Best meal we had in val thorens. We were pretty shocked by how poor the food was in the resort. They seem to have increased prices to meribel levels, but the quality hasn't caught up. However this restaurant was decent. Great beef, a good venison stew, and excellent fish. Service was friendly and reasonably efficient. Price was 210 euros for 5 mains, desert for two, a bottle of loire red and 6 other drinks.

We came back to le Vieux Chalet after an absence of several years. Best idea of the holidays! The raclette was one of the best we have ever had. (Not sure where the cheese au lait cru came from, but it was simply amazing) Add a staff that is friendly and helpful and an interior that is as warm and cosy as it gets and you have all the ingredients for a perfect romantic dinner!

Disappointing service. Our family have owned an apartment opposite the restaurant for 35 years and we have been visiting this restaurant for many years. Never have we had such a rude waitress. She slammed menus and stomped up and down the stairs. We waited for over 30 minutes for bread and butter for the children. The risotto was unremarkable.

Our booking wasn't respected and we were very rudely turned away by the restaurant owner. Very poor customer service, not what you want on a relaxing holiday.
