Les Grillons du Morvan

A hôtel which really is a and much better than most of them. Our room was very nicely decorated and the bathroom very nice and functional. The owners were extremely friendly and helped us find our way and advised us for our long...daily walks and discovery of the region. The restaurant was very good, quality wise and nicely decorated too. Very flexible and trying to accommodate your wishes concerning the food you could or couldn’t eat. We spent nights and felt a little bit home away from home. Such an hospitality and professionalism is heartwarming and we shall certainly be back soon!

We went for lunch with the family. A few of us fancied a steak but when we read the menu it was marked in red that they don’t do well done steaks (only rare or medium) as « over cooking steak ruins the integrity of the...meat ». So we ordered medium and got rare! Isn’t it up to the customer to decide how they like their food? The rest of the food was good but the comment about the steak sort of sets the atmosphere of the place.

We ate at the restaurant on a beautiful evening in September. The sunroom is a warm glass room with a nice view. We ordered the set menu and the food was wholesome and fresh. The portions were very large and we were quite full by...the end of dinner. The carafes of house wine were quite nice and the whole meal was reasonably priced.

I had the set menu, great choice, faultless and delicious French cuisine. Starter was two different terrines with fresh dressed salad, main pork medallions in honey sauce with dauphinoise potatoes and red fruit tart flan for dessert. Would highly recommend and definately visit again...if holidaying in this area.

This was an amazing stop. We enjoyed hot chocolate drinks made with homemade chocolate on a spoon which we dipped into a mug of hot milk. We purchased items of Fabrication artisanale de chocolat pur beurre de cacao Items made of chocolate.
