Les Roches Blanches

My wife I have visited Les Roches Blanches at the mid station on La Masse for lunch several times this season and always come away impressed by the food and service which improved considerably when it was taken over by new proprietors four seasons ago. The restaurant is no longer self service but the prices are the same. There's a good range of freshly prepared pizzas from 8.90 euros, a favourite of the ladies is the small salades but actually quite big from 5.90 euros, and there's a plat de jour at 12.90 euros. This place is confusingly called 'Le 7eme Ciel ' as well as 'Les Rochers Blanche '. No idea what is going on there, but.... Great location at the top of the Masse 1 gondola lift. I have been past this place hundreds of times, but never bothered to go in, until today. As this restaurant is nestled into the side of La Masse, you enter at the same level as the lift station and walk down stairs into the restaurant. The decor is very 'old school ', but nicely done. The welcome was very warm and the food was served quickly and efficiently (and was an immense portion). This restaurant is one of the best places for lunch in the 3 valleys. The food is delicious and very reasonable priced. The location, halfway down La Masse, is perfect. To add to this, the staff are always friendly and kind. On a nice day, the seats outside are fabulous. On colder days, the indoor dining room is spacious and cheerful, with large windows overlooking the mountains.

Part of the poor during the July holiday for a period of 15 days ( little preference for the noisy district). Very nice hikes, Super Summer Sledge... In short, lots of things to do. Small advice take the ascent pass it allows you to have very interesting discounts.
