L'escale Gourmande

Just back from our 4th trip to le pouldu and this place has new management! Sadly no longer the best pizza in the world... Pizza is ok .. But the owners don't really seem to be in control! The lady in charge didn't have the best customer skills .. On our first night we were told there were no tables so had to get a take away (as we had no food in) this took 3 trips from our tent and 2 hours! Be brave an try the French places near the sandy beach .. I can't remember their names but the one opposite the hotel panoramic and the scruffy looking blue building on the main road are great!You need to book .. So just pop in .

Started badly here as we fancied eating inside rather than next to the road. For some bizarre reason this wasn't allowed even though it was more or less empty. The waitress was rude.she later redeemed herself with smiles though. The food was good. No wine list was given to us but we just had the house red which was fine.

We were staying at les Embruns campsite next door so had to give it a go. Lots of pizza's but just a little sparse on the rest of menu unless you liked "rare meat" !!. Very friendly staff and good service and we did eat here three times

Great food - ate here 3 times during our stay in Le Pouldu. Lionel was a great host and always managed to find us a table. Many thanks

Just returned from our third visit to le pouldu and the l'escale gourmande serves up consistently scrumy pizza at an affordable price!
