These days, people associate the Latin Quarter with condos, chain restaurants and cafes, and summer festival events. However, until the early-mid 2000s, the Latin Quarter was filled with Bohemian jazz clubs, used bookstores, quirky shops, punks, and student pubs. There isn't much of that scene left: the artists, poets, and musicians, have moved to less expensive neighbourhoods to the north and east. This place is a wonderful combination of vegetarian food, drinks and live music. It is artsy and alternative, with that Paris and Barcelona air of a place where anything is possible. It is a wonderful way to experience the European atmosphere without leaving Canada. The food is over the top. I had the minestrone soup and the special burger. All vegetarian, you will not find meat here, what is wonderful for me. The dishes had a strong presentation, following the French cuisine stella. The burger, cooked with black beans, had a sweet and elegant taste, and the bun was baguette type, crunchy and fresh. And the music was really good. Very helpful, likeable, bilingual cool-people work here, at the top of the skinny escalier (staircase). It's a great intro to the Montréal foodie/indie-art scene, with live performances and many beers, including volume discounts on pitchers.

Great place! They have country music playing on mondays which is fantabulous.. totally recommended.
