L'hippocampe - Reservar uma mesa

We have been visiting Sospel, Menton and Cap Martin for many, many years. L’Hippocampe is always on our list to visit and we are never disappointed. The restaurant, the out door dining area and the wonderfully located sun terraces, with easy access to the sea, together make an excellent venue. Whether it is an evening dining experience or an outdoor lunch, the food is of excellent quality. Fresh, generously portioned and prepared to a high standard. This year, we have had breakfast, lunch, dinner and made full use of the sun beds on La plage. There is complementary parking, which is a rarity. Overall, we rate L’Hippocampe highly and will return.

Horrible !! I usually don’t write bad reviews but this time I have to ! The service was the worst EVER !! None of the 3 waitresses were welcoming, none was smiling, the service was slow and only 4 tables in the restaurant were occupied. We had to ask few times for water. Yes the view is nice but that’s it ! Food was ok but really nothing special. Totally not recommend this place and there are many good ones near by, Loulou next door is soooo much better !

We visit L’Hippocampe restaurant and beach every year during our annual stay in Menton and have taken bothlunch a dinner several times during each visit. The food is always excellent, both in quality and presentation and the venue simply perfect. Every visit helps to make our holiday in the sunshine special. Thank you to all the family who work so hard to make L’Hippocampe such a memorable part of our holiday for the last 12 years.

Terrible. The grandmother who apparently owns or runs the place is angry at life. No greetings. Servers slam dishes on your table. Never ask if you want anything or how is food. Spaghetti with clams was tasteless. Frowns everywhere. No thank you for coming. Go down the street to LuLu or up to Melbourne for pleasant service and better food.

They might not like Americans ! The place was not busy we sat outside. Waiter came gave us menus and drinks then never returned. Other people came and left. We finally went inside to pay for the drinks. Quite honestly I was in favor of just leaving.
