Lotus House Chinese Takeaway

I used to enjoy dining at this restaurant for some of the best Chinese food I've ever tasted. However, my recent experience was disappointing. It seems there may have been a change in ownership as there were different staff members, and the quality of the food has definitely declined. Last night, I ordered Chinese chicken with boiled rice, and I was immediately concerned when it was served in less than a couple of minutes. The rice was hard and stuck together, while the chicken was dry and unappetizing. The dish seemed to have been reheated and the beansprouts had old, crispy noodles mixed in. I usually don't write reviews, but I feel like I have to warn others to approach with caution until...

I’ve been coming here since it opened, (would hate to guess how long that is) and never had a bad meal or incorrect order. In fact I remember getting chips on a Friday night as a teenager so we are talking 25+ years...and it's the same lady that serves me! The staff are so nice, whether they take your order over the phone or in the shop and the food is always ready in super quick time, even on a Friday or Saturday night. If you live on the Riverview estate or even if you are just passing and fancy a chinese takeaway you’d be a fool to miss out. They only take cash or cheques but there is a cashpoint in the newsagents next door so don’t panic if you are tempted to order more than you first th...

I'm surprised to see the negative reviews because this is my favorite Chinese takeout place. Whenever I try other Chinese restaurants, I end up craving the food from here. The staff is also very friendly.

Terrible absolutely disgusting the worse takeaway I have EVER experienced . Food tastes disgusting was cold sloppy and smelt horrid . Would not eat there again even if they paid me

The food at this restaurant is fantastic and reasonably priced. Fiona, the receptionist, is very charming. This is now my go-to Chinese takeaway in Gravesend.
