Macfarlane's Celtic Pub

I went to MacFarlane 's Celtic Pub in Lake Charles for lunch with some co-workers. This was my first visit, and a co-worker recommended the Fish Chips. I ordered this for $19.99. The menu describes the Fish Chips as follows: Two slabs of wild caught pacific cod dipped in founders ' beer batter and fried until crisp. Set atop a bed of fresh fried seasoned chips. Served with grilled lemon, homemade remoulade and your choice of a side . After about a 15-minute wait, the food arrives. The plate had 2 small pieces of fish on top of a bed of chips. I gotta say I was impressed with beverage selection. We had a great time u til they brought out the fish n chips that we ordered. If you are of European descent and/or Go to an Irish pub, you expect chips To be fries. What we got was fish and potato chips or Some Kind of friend tortilla chip. Ughhhhhh! No. No. No.

Great job and unique atmosphere. We were surprised to see the staff in kilts! Staff was attentive and our food was delicious. Crab cake entree was enough to feed a village. Fried pickles and fries jalapeño were tasty, scotch eggs were different, more like fried devil eggs.

We went with a group of 30 people and the experience was amazing! The food was amazing and the drink selection was really good. We were very impressed with our server. she was friendly, professional, and he knowledge of the different whiskey was a big help.

Environment: spot on. Love the decor, love the signs and funny sayings. Service: Fast, Friendly, and informative. Our waitress made great recommendations and didn't let our beverages get low. Food was excellent. Can't wait to go back.
