Manilla Chip Truck

Stopped by wanting to try a chip wagon lunch - something we hadn't done in a very long time. Ordered a burger, cheeseburger and fries. Cooked upon ordering so it took a few minutes, but everything was good. The burgers were 6 oz. patties, cooked through, and very good. Fries were a bit soft & slightly greasy - just as they should be !!!There is a small picnic area behind the chip wagon with tables, recycling box, garbage bins. Shady & welcoming on a stinking hot day, clean & well kept. The garden next door has a number of interesting large cast garden figurines, too.Went next door for dessert - Kawartha Dairy ice cream and a scrumptious butter tart. A positive experience.

I went here for the French fries with stuffing on top. Some call it Newfie Poutine. Twice now I have been and no stuffing. So, I had fries with gravy and they were decent. It seems these places never have the stuffing? The fries were good but not worth a drive out of the way. I have now heard they may be closed for the season r moving? Too bad they have been here awhile. There was a truck on the West corner from this one many years ago that was worth driving to. Too bad the best ones always disappear.

I had a great time at the restaurant. The food was delicious and the service was excellent - friendly and attentive. I ordered the whitefish and it was delicious.

The restaurant has a fantastic atmosphere, the food is delicious, and the beer selection is superior to that of many more upscale restaurants.
