Birthday lunch for my wife after a friend with good taste recommended Mapo for its originality and « rapport qualité /prix ». Lovely welcome from a highly engaging, charming waitress set us immediately at ease and ensured we had apéritifs (Prosecco and rosé and water while we chose our menus. We forewent the menu du jour, which actually looked delicious as it was served to adjacent tables but we plumped for a tapas style menu, starting with Tacos ouverts with truffle, Parmesan, mozzarella and roquette, followed by a scrumptious plate of wild mushrooms in spinach with a soft poached egg all in a delicious sauce, and capped it off with gambas poêlés with a spicy kimchi. Friends had recommended Mapo and we were pleasantly surprised: That evening a week ago was gentle and we ate outside on a beautiful terrace, and all my expectations were fully met: The ease speed of reservation, the friendly welcome, the table’s placement on the terrace, the friendly and knowledgeable service, the menu with interesting choices, the creativity and presentation of the food, its freshness and surprising tastes, its professional preparation to order, the choice of beverages at fait prices, the cleanliness of the kitchen and restrooms. Above evaluation has been made against a total of 11 weighted criteria.

Based on the excellent reviews, we went to eat at Mapo for lunch. We ordered the gamba's and the tuna with sate sauce. Both portions were really small, although we ordered a big plate. The prices for these dishes were very expensive related to the portions, CHF31 and CHF35. The quality of the dishes was good, but not very special or refined. The tables were also were close to each other and the room was very noisy. Overall, rapport qualité /prix not good and rating Tripadvisor overrated.

With thanks for a lovely evening with warm service, a fabulous menu, great wines and a really pretty and convivial setting! Utterly recommend the gambas and the chocolate dessert. That said, the salmon was gorgeous too. Oh and so was the tuna. And the agrumes dessert. I could go on. Happily we will go back! Reserve uma mesa agora

Best menu de jour I’ve had in a long time, filet of bas with a nutty sauce and delicious courge/celery soup to start. Their house made lemonade with basil and mint was the perfect accompaniment. And so was the friendly efficient service. Great value for money!

Very pleasant setting, chic, simple and warm and the cuisine is just perfect, I recommend the desserts, the passion fruit one is a treat and the chocolate one is so innovative with the popcorn, superb evening, a big thank you to everyone team !

A very good restaurant serving food with a splash of Asian flavours. Cozy environment. Friendly staff and attentive. The food in general was very tasty. However the portion size was not generous as against the price paid.

The staff are amazing. Excellent service at a very beautiful restaurant in the outskirts of Geneva. Worth the trip to this wonderful restaurant.
