Nice, stylish steak restaurant. We all had the Filet Steak. Three of our group had medium rare steaks, but they said it could have been warmer and less ****. They also had asparagus in Hollandaise sauce, which was a seasonal special and very nice....I had done my steak (with pepper sauce) medium/well and it was spot on/perfect/faultless, beautiful char-grilled and hot. I asked where the really fantastic beef was, the waitress had to ask the kitchen and it is Uruguayan. Malbec wine was delicious. Service was nice and polite, but uninformed and somewhat slow towards the end (even if it was a Monday that is a quiet day in this state of Thuringia). We would return.

We came to Gera on our holidays for a night and were looking for good local food on the warm July evening. We found this German restaurant on TripAdvisor positive feedback and were satisfied. The menu is usually based on steaks, but also chicken flour is available. Prices are moderate. As dessert, the strawberries with ice cream were super delicious. The service was somehow slow and neutral when I compare it with Bavarian smiles and warm service style. Perhaps the old local and historical East culture makes the difference. Anyway, interesting place for dinner at the market place. The photo is rakentaa from the restaurant terrace.

Sonntag 13.8.17 18:30 Uhr. Wir stehen vor verschlossener Tür. Das Eingangsschild verkündet geöffnet am Sonntag bis 15:00 Uhr. Offensichtlich hier falsche Angaben hinterlegt. Der Spanier gegenüber frohlockt darüber. Wenn allerdings jemand so unflexibel wie ich auf Steak bzw. Roulade geeicht war, wird hier Am Markt in Gera wohl nicht glücklich.

We ate here twice a weekend. Outside on the terrace and 1 night in a private dinner room. Both times well served, wide selection of local dishes and right wines. All this for affordable prices. Yu must try that if... in Gera! Special thanks to Maria for here services (together with the team)

very good food, great service and beautiful atmosphere. We organized a family holiday and everything worked wonderfully. Everyone was happy with his choice from the menu from the appetizer via Dessert.
