The Mason's Arms was just across the road from where we were staying. At first sight it just seems to be a straightforward village pub, and our expections for dinner were fairly low. But how wrong we were!!! The bar areas are very welcoming and in that sense it is a very traditional cosy English pub .. and there is good choice of beers and wines etc. But the food was wonderful. We chose from teh Special menu which clearly included dishes that bwere favourities of teh Chef Lucianna. We started with Black Pudding and Haggis Fritters. My party of four had a fantastic dining experience at The Masons Arms on a Sunday afternoon in October. The menu offers a great selection of food and beverages. We ordered two beef stroganoffs, a chilli con carne, and a lamb shank, all of which were delicious, flavorful, and freshly prepared. We indulged in desserts as well, with the apple and toffee crumble being a standout choice paired with custard. The pub is clean and the staff is friendly and hardworking. Though we usually only come here for drinks with our dog, we will definitely be returning for more meals in the future.
We had a family gathering of 25 people, reserved tables in advance, and had an amazing time. The food was outstanding, all freshly prepared with fantastic presentation and tasted as delicious as it looked. The staff were extremely friendly and willing to accommodate our needs. I highly recommend this restaurant to everyone. We have dined there three times now and each time the quality has been consistent. Thank you to the entire staff.
Had a wonderful afternoon having drinks in the sun, admiring the views, with friends. Decided to have dinner there and chose fish and chips. Great service and the most wonderful fish and chips one could have hoped for. Fresh fish, crispy battet, gorgeous! Proper country pub, great beer, food and service.
