Max's Woodfired Pizza & Burgers

Five of us had dinner for a birthday celebration just before Christmas. We made a reservation for 6:30 on a Sunday night and were told that the restaurant closes at 8pm, which was not a problem for us. We ordered our usual items - fish and chips, burgers, and pizzas - and had no complaints about the food. We did have to flag down staff for service a couple of times, but it wasn't a major issue. Since it was a quiet Sunday night with few other customers, we hope that service won't be compromised on busier nights.

Well, they may be ”half price pizzas” on Wednesdays, however, WHERE IS THE TOPPING?? We had a vegetarian take-away with 3 cherry tomatoes and about 6 thin slices of zucchini. Even the size of the base seems to have shrunk. A couple of weeks ago this was different. Is this how you promote your take away business? Certainly nothing to brag about!

We stopped by this restaurant while waiting for the wine bar next door to open. The Popcorn Chicken with Aoli was surprisingly delicious and spicy. The garlic and mozzarella pizza was absolutely amazing. The wine was well chilled, of high quality, and reasonably priced. We definitely plan on returning in the future.

Can be a little noisy, and sometimes a little unkempt- but the burgers are great. Always cooked well and very tasty. The staff are always friendly and helpful and the place is usually very busy. The spicy burger is the best around

The pizza here is fabulous. Perfectly cooked base and yummy toppings. They also have a great vegan range! I had the red velvet vegan pizza and it was amazing. I added vegan mozzarella too. Highly recommend!!
