We went to the street to go to a restaurant nearby which was closed. It was 5:30pm on Sunday and the restaurant was empty. My partner said the usual:”It’s empty, let’s not go in there.” I saw it was a Lithuanian restaurant and decided to go in anyway. When we got in, the restaurant have a pleasant vibe, cool but homie the waitress was in a great mood and explained the dishes. The potato mains might sound a bit strange but not different from a very good harsh brown(the ones our grandmas would make from scratch! and some really different dishes. My girlfriend, who is Lithuanian, and I brought a large group of English friends to this restaurant a week before Christmas. We were searching for Lithuanian options in Essex and everyone was pleasantly surprised. The beer snacks were delicious- fried bread with garlic and cheese, smoked herring, potato pancakes, dumplings, schnitzels, and more. The decor was clean and modern, the service was good, and they even allowed us to bring our own Christmas crackers. The food was tasty and the beer and shots were good. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for good value comfort food with a unique twist, not just those interested in Eastern European cuisine.

I ordered the chicken shish for takeout and was disappointed when I opened the container at home to find only 3 or 4 small pieces of chicken that had been cooked in an oven instead of grilled. The chicken did not taste fresh and appeared as though it had been sitting in a refrigerator for days before being reheated in the oven. I would recommend finding another place to eat or making your own chicken shish at home.
