Merriweather - Reservar uma mesa

As many foodies do, we like to check out popular places that shows up on our instafeed. This was one of them. Located at the back of South Brisbane, my friend and I decided to give this place a try. We ordered their special (omelette) and smoked fish dish. Our verdict - the special... was not that special. For us, the cream they had filled inside the omelette with did not taste or marry well with everything else on the plate. As for the other dish, it was pleasant but nothing to write home about. The positives of our visit would be the friendly staff and short wait for food. It is just unfortunate the food didn't deliver. This place may not be for us but we would still recommend you give it...

Had the potato, smoked pork belly and kimchi dish, with a single-origin espresso. The smoked pork belly was tender, delicious. The kimchi and apple sauce were well done and paired very well with the pork. The potatoes were on the bland side, could use with a bit more seasoning perhaps. The coffee was good, without being great. The meal was let down by the service, which was inattentive for the duration, unfortunately.

I had breakfast here last Saturday and loved it. The staff were attentive and funny. The coffee was strong and full flavoured. I ordered one of the specials, a lovely shredded ham and fresh peas on sourdough toast. The baked treats on the counter looked delicious and is definitely another reason to return soon!

Came here with work colleagues for some breakfast. Have been here before for coffee and it's always been good. Service was welcoming and accommodating as I did as for some adjustments to my meals. Food was also good as well.

Always pack! Coffee and meals were good. They shouldnt have table service with only 3 staff working. 1 cook, 1 barrista and 1 waitress cum cashier cum cleaner... notngona work!
