I have been to this establishment a handful of times, and I've always had a good experience. Last night was not the case. The service was extremely slow, spanning from the waitstaff to the kitchen, which made me wonder if there was anyone even in the kitchen! No food for the entire seating area came out for 40 minutes. Then, everyone started getting their food one plate after another. It was kind of odd. Overall, we were there over an hour before our nachos starter came out. During said time, out beer glasses sat empty for 30 minutes. We ended up taking our entrée, the classic burger, home with us. Total time spent at restaurant, one hour and 43 minutes. On to the food. The worst nachos ever...
We went here to see how they are and it was delicious, the service was great and they got us a seat before the reservations. We seated outside under a big tent which was very nice, it was heated and comfortable, the metal chairs were uncomfortable because there to narrow. The food and appetizers came out fairly quick, we tried the Buffalo chicken dip with nacho chips which was delicious. We also had the vt buffalo wings and those were great not spicy at all and good dipped in ranch or blue cheese. I had the mill river burger and it was tasty, very moist and flavorful. The duck fat fries are very good as well, the regular hand cut fries are just as good in my opinion with a little more crispy...
The food is absolutely outstanding! The staff is incredibly friendly and knowledgeable, making your dining experience even better. The desserts are simply fantastic—unique and delicious without being overly sweet, and the portion sizes are impressive. I can't rave enough about the desserts! They always come up with creative specials, which is great for those who might not enjoy brisket. If you haven't been there yet, take the time to visit—you won't be disappointed!
Very nice. The service was perfect. Large selection of beers. There is the tap house with outdoor seating and the smoke house who also has outdoor seating. The food menu is different. We chose the Smoke house. We had pull pork tacos and the burnt ends platter. The food was very good. Suggest to make reservation, we had to sit at the bar it was the only option without reservation. Ladies night was a hit tonight. Outdoor seating with the heaters that are like huge torches were absolutely the coolest. I'm not a big drinker but my friends loved the selection. Choose your own 4 types of beer flights for them and a hot chocolate liqueur drink for me. Devine! Portion sizes are huge so if your worried about cost, just know you will leave with a to go dish for later. Haha Worth it.
Was told over an HOUR before closing that we couldn’t get takeout. Have literally ALWAYS have had a problem with this place. During Covid it was always a 2-3 hr wait, they’d be closed on random days or just closed early, or like tonight. Been looking forward to it all day, but apparently you need to call them three hours before closing to get food. Ridiculous.
Waited a hour and 15 minutes for a bowl a chili and the Shepards pie. Chili had no flavor, and the beans weren't even cooked all the way. Sheppard pie was an abomination of the dish. Brisket taste like it was cooked last week, bland ingredients, wasn't even hot after waiting that long. 5th time trying mill river bad experience everytime.
