As a notoriously picky eater, I often have a specific craving in mind, and I can't believe how this small restaurant has consistently met my expectations time after time. Over the years, I've tried nearly everything on their menu, and not only has the food always been outstanding, but the service has been equally impressive. There's no other spot around that offers fresh, battered food—meaning they don’t use old, greasy oil, which really puts me off. I’m not sure how they maintain such high standards, but they've been doing it for many years. This was our first and last visit to this restaurant. The woman at the drive-thru was incredibly rude. The food was excessively greasy, the fries were soggy and limp, and the teriyaki cheeseburger didn't even have cheese. The fish taco had no fish in it, and there were no spoons or forks provided for our coleslaw (which was the best part of the meal) and potato salad. Additionally, there were no kids' meals or baskets available for our children. Overall, it was a disappointing experience considering the amount we spent on three meals. Make sure to check your orders before leaving to avoid the same mistakes we did; it’s better to learn from others' experiences than the hard way.
The bulk of the reviews must be fake or from family and friends of the establishment. The beer battered fish and chips was as greasy as a wet towel... i had to place a piece of fish in some paper towels and press down to wring out the excess grease. The catfish nuggets had a better corn meal breading, but the actual catfish was paper thin. All in all, we had to throw the food away. I'm from Arkansas and know and love some good fried food. The trick is to have the meat and spices be the star of the show... not the grease. If this establishment were down south, they wouldn't survive past a month. I advise the owners to take a trip down south for a fried food tour.
I visited this restaurant a few years ago and tried their fish and chips, so I decided to give it another shot. Unfortunately, I was left disappointed. Although the portion of fish was generous, it was overly breaded and greasy. The fries were plentiful and delicious, which was a positive aspect. However, the restaurant is only accessible via the drive-thru, and the lobby looks cluttered and disorganized, almost as if a hoarder had taken over. The food quality was very disappointing. My boyfriend and I ordered the catfish bites and the fish and chips, and both dishes were excessively battered with a lackluster flavor. The batter didn’t taste like traditional beer batter at all. Additionally, the French fries were extremely soggy. It seemed like they just gave us a cup of mayo instead of tartar sauce. I won’t be returning here; it’s definitely not worth the hype. Save your money! Service: Takeout.
Generous portion size. Parking: Drive-up, drive-in style. Drive up to single window, order, Drive away and park to wait for your order to be delivered outside. No interior dining.
