Moreland's Tavern - Reservar uma mesa

Just had such a great time at Moreland’s Tavern tonight. Matt, the owner was there and made it an amazing experience. My college age daughter was in town visiting and I couldn’t remember the history of the building they are in (which is a gem in and of itself) and Matt came over, pulled up a chair, brought up his laptop and phone and shared a lot of pictures of the renovation and the background of it coming into being. He shared some amazing stories of the old soda fountain from when it was a pharmacy, that some of the locals that come in still remember from way back! Went to the Tavern for drinks with a friend. Our waiter did not seem happy that we were not ordering food and was rude all night, as if he was trying to get rid of us. When I opted not to get a second drink (since I was driving and wanted to be responsible), the waiter was visibly annoyed at my decision, rolling their eyes and asking if I was sure I did not want a second. This felt very out of line to us. Upon leaving, we left a modest 10% tip for the poor treatment and pressure. We also left a short note saying how we felt. As we were walking back to our car, the waiter literally ran after us to verbally harass us.We still cannot believe that trying to go for some drinks resulted in shockin...

This was my second time stopping in at Moreland's. My husband I discovered it one day when we were just walking around in this part of NW DC. We liked it the first time so were happy to stop again. It's really my kind of place lovely old building, authentic, friendly, not snooty or pretentious, the service is good, the food has been great both times I went. I wish I had a place like this in my own neighborhood!!

One of the best burgers I've had in a while! My partner and I stopped by for a late lunch and I got the smash burger with tots and was just blown away by the quality of the meat and the overall balance of flavors! The flourless cake for dessert was super rich too. Great food plus great and friendly staff means I definitely have to come back and try more of the menu!

Great experience bartenders Whitney was entertaining and friendly. Seat hoss Elizabeth was sweet and kind . Locals are a ? and food was unique and deliciousFood: 5/5
