My partner and I were recommended this restaurant during our drip to London. The restaurant itself was cool and classy, staff were attentive and friendly enough. The food was fresh and delicious. We chose the tasting menu for £65 a person. The starters consisted of a mix of breads, focaccia, a bread stick and a fried bread all which were good but nothing to write home about. The sweet potato and cured meat was divine. Next came a dish of charred greens, croutons and blood orange, which was over charred and bitter tasting, not to our taste. Do not make the same mistake that I made they seem quite adequate to be doing pasta but the pork that they served even with a steak knife which I had to stop trying to use as a knife started to lose its integrity I have friends in the ministry defence that would find the pork that they could use as a new way of protecting tanks from uranium base thank pasta shells when I mentioned that the pork was an edible and was so tough that wolverine would have problems with it the staff member couldn't actually understand what I was saying it wasn't that she couldn't understand English she just wasn't able to comprehend and they didn't have any processes in place to deal with complaints the other nice...
The place seems nice but once you are inside isn’t nothing special. The toilet was very old and dirty. It was Friday night around 8pm, and few staff from the menu were not already available. We paid 70£ for a bottle of wine and they even didn’t open the bottle at the table. This is just the basic. 21£ for untasted tagliatelle with porcini mushrooms. Porcini normally are very tasty. This porcini were just very chewy. Gnocco fritto tasted like squid. Probably they fried them in the same oil of the squids. I can’t really find anything positive about this place. The food quality doesn’t exist and everything is overpriced. Actually the only positive thing was our waitress, Anna, very professional...
We walked a long way to get there and it was worth every step. The decor is basic, nothing fancy. Seems to reflect years of life rather than decorator themes. The menu was a wonderful surprise. Not one thing was ordinary. Cuttlefish and grapefruit? Yes! Please do. Hen of the Woods mushrooms, fabulous. Crab and mushrooms together, delicious. Smoked ricotta ravioli, exquisite. The tiramisu was a mountain of cream with a dusting of cocoa snow. It defeated us. Our server was professional, kind, attentive and patient. Totally charming young woman. The food was nice enough but my main issue which I have NEVER experienced at a restaurant before was that throughout the 4 hours we were there, there were large rats running back and forth across the restaurants decking right outside the main door. I was trying to enjoy my food and out of the corner of my eye would see them dash around. They clearly lived under the decking! It really put me off my food and we could see all the other tables turning around in shock as well. They either need to invest in ceiling to floor curtains or a good exterminator...
A very enticing menu but don't be fooled by the photos, at £18 a primi half the size of a tapas, £4 or £5 for 3 slices of stale bread called focaccia, this is a very expensive restaurant you will leave hungry. Fresh,and tasty ingredients, but no seasoning of sorts, plain boiled octopus and tomato, not even a drop of olive oil, corners cut everywhere possible to the detriment of the finished dishes. Service average, not bringing all starters together, they take different times to prepare, hmmm, get a chef who knows his schedule. Not again!
Food is not great. Focaccia is served cold so it's chewy and really bad. Pasta dishes are plain, so much potential with the ingredients but we felt it's undercooked, unseasoned and taste nothing. Really wanted to love this place as it's not too overhyped yet but foods are just poor. Better go try your luck (with the booking) at Jolene
We come for a family lunch and unfortunately we had a terrible experience. Unprofessional and unfriendly service, without any care for the customer. Terrible food! Very poor quality of the ingredients, no flavor, greasy and salty ! No idea about what Italian food should be. Absolutely unacceptable. Reserve uma mesa agora
Great little discovery. We sat at a reserved table without realising, but they just moved the reserved sign to another table nice! They made a half and half pizza for us too. Also had melanzana parmigiana which was good. Great service, and really really good pizza.
