Open Sesame - Long Beach

This place was kind of expensive but it most definitely is a popular popular place in Long Beach. If you're native to Long Beach and you want Mediterranean food you know about open sesame. As you can see in the pictures the food was quite tasty I enjoyed the atmosphere family environment friend environment. The head manager was very polite even when we set in a very cold Long Beach evening they were polite enough to see us inside. But I can't get over paying almost $21 for for medium size falafels. There's no falafel in the world that I would pay that much but I did and I was not unpleased. I suggest people to go and check out open sesame because it's like a block away from the Long Beach. came here on a busy Saturday night, family of 5 was sitting immediately. had a great table. this place is busy at weeks, but the staff is so efficient that they don't feel it. friendly staff. the waiter was kind and patient, because we had no idea what to order. the plate that feeds 5-6 people had still good rest for the next day. it was a great opportunity to try everything that was our first time. favorit was the kofta, so juicy and not dry at all. the service was so fast. had dessert of cheesecake and Turkish coffee. if they have children with them, they might want to taste the fresh cocos water. they cut the cocose in the house and serve them with a straw. The service was polite and friendly and helpful with recommendations, favorites and specials. The location is along main downtown Long Beach around many trendy and happening bars and clubs which gave it a great vibe. There is outdoor seating so it's very Covid friendly and the staff were all wearing masks as well.We had the Ali's favorite, open sesame combo, chicken kafta, spicy hummus (comes with pita) and garlic potatoes and everything was cooked to perfection and spiced appropriately such that the meats and rice were flavorful and not bland. The kebabs that I ordered medium were cooked to a medium texture.Great food, service and location. Recommended!

Ordered the Friday special KABSSA“five hour braised lamb shank cooked over a low flame w/tomatoes, special blend of spices herbs. Served over basmati rice cooked w/ green bell peppers, onions, carrots, raisin, spices. Sprinkled with pine nut almond slivers.”I try not to eat a lot of animal protein, so when I do it’s sort a treat to myself. (I’m not a chef, nor do I order Mediterranean a lot), but the center of the lamb didn’t get much seasoning. I didn’t see any sprinkled pine nuts, nor green bell peppers/onions/carrots in the rice. I sung here on Sunday with a friend. around 18:30 clock it took about 20 minutes to sit. we shared the hummus and the watermelon with fried cheese as appetizers. both were delicious, but I could eat the watermelon with roasted cheese every day. I ordered the open sesam combo with bark meat and huh kafta, the open sesamsalat and the spicy hummus. it was amazing! I have swallowed everything on the plate. I can't wait to eat here again.

this place is amazing for community restaurant. had a party of 6 and were absolutely filled with food. all were phenomenal. such a lot of aromen, vegetables and meat all cooked to perfection. all dips and sauces have put together everything so well. our server was the sweetest bean and gave some great recommendations. would definitely come back from me or with a whole party.

we had dinner and common courts with the fam. I never had too much to do and it was so good. we had two bowls and I'll try to make home. fried/fried cauliflower cabbage was very delicious and crispy and the pita brot was warm and delicious. we shared the open sesam combo, which was savory and very tasty.
