Otter's Spicy Cottage

We arrived at the SPICE COTTAGE near foxhills at around 10.45pm after driving 3.5 hours hours from Manchester, reasonably polite people when served. Ordered £36 worth of food. We took the food back to our hotel, on inspection I decided not to eat it purely based on the look and quality of the food. The prawn puri was simply the worst starter of prawn puri I have ever ever seen. The chef should be ashamed, it was literally covered in gee, the prawns were see through and there was literally zero spice, colour or flavour to the dish. The restaurant sets out dips on your table as if they are complimentary, but then charges for each one. The price per poppadum is high, a common trend nowadays. The service is slow, especially during slower hours. The food is tasty, but the portion sizes are small, so you may need to order extra sides and sundries to feel satisfied, which can add up in cost.

The service at this restaurant is very friendly and the atmosphere is cozy. It offers good value for money, but the dessert menu could use an upgrade. Despite this, I will definitely visit again!

The food was delicious, but unfortunately, the heating was not working well and we nearly froze to death! The restaurant was completely empty except for us.

I have visited many Indian restaurants, but I will never eat here again. The curry had no taste and the portions were small.
