The host/manager was very friendly, but our server was new and appeared to keep having issues with the handheld. We were the first to arrive for brunch, but it took quite a long time for our food to arrive. My friend had ordered the steak and eggs with hollandaise. The eggs had congealed and the steak was overcooked. We realized the server never asked how we wanted it cooked, so that issue was on us. Again everyone was super friendly, but we were surprised at the food quality and time it took because we were literally one of just a few tables at 11am.
the mixed green salad was exaggerated by vinegar and there was a $20 charge for 5 scallops on it - near $30 for an almost inedible salate. the server had paid us and let the tip on a digital device that she held all the time and crowded us as we did. is this now something? overall the quality of this restaurant has decreased. we usually went out for the oysters, but don't plan to go back anytime soon... many good places to eat and much cheaper in the inner city of st pete. don't go there unless they have money to burn.
I came into the restaurant in my reserved time frame and was sitting right at the outside seat. everything was perfect except the service. the waiter always forget to come to my table, until the point where I had to go to the restaurant to find it. I would say we waited about 40 minutes before we even got our appetizers. she was a heavy lady with brunette straight crooks.
the appetizers were especially pimento cheese hush puppies. in all brunch plates. garnel and grumen came out with overcooked and dry grums. steak and eggs were not so great for the price. eggs were not cooked well. overall would not go back for brunch. I'd go for a drink for a starter because that's where they're glowing. again, just disappointed.
