Papachristos - Reservar uma mesa

Sadly through shocking service and comments from the owner himself, our evening was ruined to the point of leaving after an hour having pre-paid and our food not arriving. Following an enjoyable guided tour of the Schiffshebewerk Henrichenburg our group arrived as expected in the...restaurant. I was a little disappointed to see the menu was limited to only items, (none of which were vegetarian options). After a one hour wait, several people in the group made their disappointment known, to which the owner then hung around the table making remarks about the kitchen being full, demanding (not requesting) our patience, and him wanting to have his Feierabend' (head home for the evening). Been to this place a few times now over several years, and unfortunately nothing has changed in all that time. One does not expect any big changes, but an occasional variation to the age-old menu would be welcome. The food is quite good actually, to...be fair, but not something to shout about. The service is also ok. A large beer garden/terrace is around the back, which is really nice on a warm day. But overall only points, due to the mediocre menu and service.

Wir waren mit mehreren Mitgliedern unseres Oldtimerclubs dort essen. Die Bedienung war offenbar mit der Personenzahl überfordert, Essen wurde falsch geliefert, Getränke verwechselt. Die Speisen selbst waren in Ordnung, aber nicht sensationell. Preislich wirkte es etwas teurer als gleichwertige Restaurants. Nicht Rollstuhlgerecht, sehr beengte Toiletten, wirkten ungepflegt.

Wir kennen das Papachristos schon eine ganze Weile. Als unsere Kinder kleiner waren sind wir immer nur hier essen gegangen, da das Personal und der Chef sehr kinderlieb sind. Das Essen gut und reichlich, Eis für die Kinder, selbstverständlich ohne Berechnung, wir "Großen" bekamen auch Nachtisch und Ouzo oder Kaffee, was das Herz begehrt. Wir fühlen uns hier sehr wohl.

Friends took us to this Greek restaurant one night on our trip. Food Service good but lacking in a little atmosphere, great big room with heigh ceilings, not really to my taste of decor
