The coffee wasn't the greatest here but it was nice break from busy Orange Avenue. I've walked Orange Avenue many time over the years but this was my visit to Cafe 1134. It's Kinda squeezed in between a Jeweler and a theater company it could easily be missed.The Theater company has their own coffee bar. It was a busy night so we were kinda forced to pull into the first available store. Coffee and Dessert sounded great and we also needed a break to rest our legs. Cafe 1134 ended up being the perfect place. We ordered our coffee and split a few dessert at their bar area. Upstairs in a perch where it looked like people were surfing the web.. Coffee was just okay, but we enjoyed the sweets.
Be very careful of this place! They OVERCHARGED MY CREDIT CARD! I don't normally tip for food that is quickly prepared at a counter with no other service. They decided to take it upon themselves to charge my credit card over 20% more than my purchase. One cannot even make the argument this was an honest mistake about the numbers because I clearly crossed out the tip line and wrote the total the same as the charged amount. And my customer receipt is an carbon copy of the store receipt. This establishment is dishonest and steals. Do not eat here. There are plenty of other hard working, honest establishments on Coronado.
We found cafe 1134 quite by accident and we were pleasantly surprised! There were FOUR seating areas for this little cafe! Outdoor seating in the front, a back patio, and seating both upstairs and down inside! I ordered a ham and cheese omelet with potatoes and hubs had the traditional which was not on the menu but was just bacon and eggs. All of which were very nice portions and well cooked. Service was terrific and the retro vibe of the building made for a great experience. Absolutely recommend!
We stumbled upon this while walking around Coranado...what a cute little cafe with the food that surprised us. We ordered a Venice panini and it was amazing and the vegan chili was a burst of flavors in the mouth. The staff was so pleasant and accommodating to our changes. Will def come back on our next visit.
