"When will France finally adapt to modern live and stop closing their bistro's in the afternoon in cities like Lens? If you house a Louvre department, you should do better! This was the only place in town where we could eat a sandwich, but the service and quality was substandard."

strong points: the quality of food is rather good. we smell fresh products and it is a real plus- thanks to the menus, the prices stay correct- the desserts: jeanson is an institution- the bread served at the table: delicious points low-: the portions in the plates: frankly, it has a true taste of too little and it is not normal to be hungry when leaving. a rustic service, confused. Products were missing from what was on the map. mistakes in the command but good-. cooking: a quiche that probably had to be very good. But I'm spoiled by a cooking, but I give a 12/20 to not be too hard. I hope that jeanson will take into account constructive criticism in order to improve.

This place is located in from of the central church in Lens. It is known to be in a good location and below one of the oldest fanciest building in town. However, I found the service very average. I would go back and try again. However, when you are only stopping by on your way back (our case Vimy Memorial) sometimes you don't have a chance to give it another try. Lens receives lots of tourist because of Vimy and the local commerce should strive to offer the best of service and products. At the time we were there the coffee shop was about to close and it was about 3pm only.

Looking for the best pastry in the corner (between maid, lens, arras and up to bethune) I went to test jeanson (in front of the town hall of lens) raspberry and ch'terril the first was in the average without more and the second was horrible with a back taste of butter (somely remained long in the window. those who seek excellence is not the right place to taste (as you can believe on the website) the atmosphere seems bcp better than the product and the welcome I had was perfect (thanks to the sun that day can be? - read other opinions).

The place is very central, in front of the city hall and very affordable. But the quality and the choices of menu and products were not so great, as we arrived at 12:15 and there was already half the menu gone. I didn't like at all the pastries, very sugary and not that tasteful.
