I'm very disappointed. It took months, and a group effort, to get correspondence from this bakery. When we finally connected, we set an appointment for weeks out. Our Matron of Honor planned to be in town for our tasting. The morning of our tasting, the owner called to cancel, because she had a schedule conflict. The owner was extremely nonchalant and offered to deliver deconstructed cupcakes within a week. The owner shared that she had a lot going on, and wouldn't be able to schedule us for a few months. My family and I have ordered from Penthouse Sweets several times thinking the next time would be better than the time previous, but now I'm tapped out on ordering cakes. The cupcakes are absolutely delicious hands down thee best, but the cakes are extremely subpar in taste. They are beautiful, but on every occasion we ordered a cake it was horrible. The cakes were, crumby and dry the complete opposite of the cupcakes. Pass on the cakes, but the cupcakes are a for sure hit! I gave a rating of it three because you pay more for cakes and they aren't good. One of my orders was made incorrect the owner didn't make any excuses she resolved my issue and the newly ordered cupcakes were delicious.

As a local resident frequenting local businesses is important to building a great community. I love cupcakes and have visited and tasted several renowned bakeries in the greater Chicago area. I tried the ooey gooey cupcake or mini cupcake it was delicious. Portion to price comparison Penthouse Sweets is overpriced. I asked the price for a dozen almost 40 dollars for cupcakes smaller than other popular cupcakes bakeries I frequent. I would love to make this my new home but too expensive.

Deliciousness!! Penthouse Sweets did the cake for my sisters wedding and catered to her desired look perfectly. She requested a semi-naked cake with rose placements. The baker was super nice and professional. The cake turned out beautiful and tasted just as great! The shop does host tastings monthly. I believe slices, cupcakes, and other treats are sold daily. I stopped in for the first time to buy my customers some sweets. The staff was very nice and helpful. I picked up several boxes of cupcakes. My customers are still asking me where I got those cupcakes. So yummy and love the name!!
