A (very) small restaurant, dinner at Piccola Roma may end up being a regular event for us. The customer service was very good, our waiter seemed to just love his job. The timing of the meal was perfect, and the food, insanely good. The calf...I had could have been cut with a spoon. Salad, very fresh, and when I asked for a different dressing, not a problem at all. PR is also where we order our pizza from. I don´t even normally like pizza, but theirs is very good! Prices are fair. It´s not cheap, but not expensive either. And for the quality of the food and service...very very fair. It´s super small, as mentioned, maybe 8 tables? So make a reservation.
I arrived this evening on a Tuesday night and tried to get a table outside and was declared as single only within sitting places. So I went in and got a menu, but no one came back, not even for a drink order. since I was ready for a wein after a hard working day. I waited 10 minutes and went. Pity that I am in n bamberg for the business 4x per year and stay at least 2 weeks per stay and work for a Bamberg-based company close to, so I will also tell them.
this is our 2nd trip to bamberg and we were now 4 times in this restaurant. the menus are comprehensive with meat/fish pasta and pizza. portions are generous, and the Gorgonzola sauce is excellent, extensive wine list that fits. eating perfect. the main speaker speaks English, and is very striving to please himself, also for big money and in the warmer months. the outside area is fantastic. can regain this place high enough
this place is small (only about 7 tables), so they need to get a reservation early, but it is the best pizza I had in almost 40 years. German pizza has a very thin crust and must be eaten with a knife and fork. and this pizza crust was almost matzoh like. I have a large pizza and a big beer and the bill came to about 13 euro for such an excellent meal. do not miss this place.
