Pizzeria La Fontana

We arrived around 930/10pm on a rainy, stormy night--- I was super stressed due to weather closing the route from Zirl to Mittenwald, where our airbnb (rental) was already booked. We were stuck---I put on my rain jacket and my friend and I stopped at the random Austrian town of Zirl. I saw some bright red, green and white lights and was hopeful this meant Italian, "oh please be open", I thought!!Upon entering, a woft of italian spices with a bit of love hit my nose. I immediately asked for wifi and food. We needed to find a place to stay. We stumbled on this restaurant by accident - searching for a bus stop!The food was excellent, the service superb and atmosphere delightful.Quite a small place and frequented by locals but we - as tourists - were made very welcome.We would certainly recommend it.

Lovely little restaurant in the centre of Zirl. It only has approx 8 tables so we had to wait approx 10 minutes for a table but it was worth it. Very friendly host, good wine and tasty food. It was also great value
