Pizzeria Pulcinella

I have a feeling that the negative reviews here came from rivals nearby (some seem to have very bad owners when you read these reviews). This is an authentic Italian pizza from a wood burning stove with excellent crust and the right balance of ingredients. And my grandmother came from Napoli, grandfather from Sicily, and personally grew up in New York where great pizza is a source of pride. The prices are in-line with this quality of pizza; this is not your basic snack bar type. I have the impression that many reviews of this restaurant are more used to Nordic friendly interpretations of pizza. As a New Yorker with a Granparent from Napoli and Sicilia, I grew closer to what this restaurant creates. Second time I have dined here (one on business trip) in the last 4 months, and I think it's just perfect for a real pizzeria. Not only the pizzas are authentic and full of extensive choices, but the wine list of the Italian selections through the glass is extremely wide and moreover for wines through the bottle. All reasonable prices and served with serious efforts. I just wish they had credit cards or even Maestro are quite rare to ask for money. But very comfortable piz...

Looking around for a restaurant quite late one Friday evening, we decided to give this pizzeria a go as it looked quite popular. It turned out to be a good choice. Our Italian waitress was charming, attentive and gave good recommendations. We ordered entrecôtes and they were fantastic cooked to perfection and served with a nice orange salad. The following day we came back and enjoyed a tuna carpaccio and flambeed giant prawns which were also very good. Friendly service, good food and fair prices. And not a fried chip in sight, I'm glad to say!

The only pizza in the area tastes like a real modern Italian pizza. I have read several reviews, but as a native Italian I have to say that this is one of the few places around Lake Constance where you can eat an Italian pizza of the new century. When we talk about the rest is average, but no discussion about the pizza level compared to all other Reastaurants in the area!

Our family has eaten several times here and treated well every time. We ordered pizzas as well as wine, beer and salads. We returned three times during our stay!
