tired of walking through the steep and winding albaida cinnamon alleys, we decided to take a break and go to the restaurant the square, located in the central square of the village. the building is composed of a restaurant (with two indoor lounges) and a 2-star “Posada” rural hotel. It also has a nice terrace over the rosary square. in your letter you will find a homemade and market cuisine, with typical land products, and variety of Mediterranean and Arab flavors. Food was good and included some solid vegetarian options. More expensive than other places we visited in Andalucía but cost was reasonable. Really beautiful location. The owner was unfriendly and seemed annoyed when we asked for anything. He was not careful regarding food allergies so suggest double (if not triple) checking everything for those traveling with allergies. Other wait staff was super nice.

We loved the live music in the plaza but would not choose to eat here again. We had a problem with one of our orders , when we asked the waiter about this the response was unhelpful and we found it rude. Left some of the party upset sadly. The rest of the food was average (lamb was great) , the live music fab but sadly the customer service not great.

This restaurant is in a beautiful square and has the most fabulous menu. Have eaten there a few times now and really wanted to share how excellent the food is- fabulous fresh local meals with a huge choice. The staff are really helpful

After a wee walk from Competa we were in need of something to eat. We enjoyed a lovely meal. The Andalusian lamb was delicious. Service impecable and I definately recommend this as an excellent restaurant. Ps, is also a hotel
