Fur Coat no knickers. We stopped 2 nights and overall were disappointed. We had an evening meal booked which was good until my wife found a piece of plastic in her pudding. I asked for ice cream and was told there wasn't any only to see ice cream arrive at the next table, perhaps it was because they were regulars. I was disappointed but not surprised when the owner made no gesture about the plastic in the bill. The accommodation is very dated and needs some investment. It was a shame because some aspects were very good but wouldn't return or recommend.

Sunday lunched here a number of times and all have been fantastic. It’s all proper old school attentiveness and politeness. The staff are all excellent. The food is excellent. The Sunday lunch is a tremendous 4 course coffee affair, with a proper sweet trolley that is wheeled to your table. I just couldn’t resist the Rum baba today amazing.

Would not advise anyone going to this hotel for a small family wedding. On entering the beautiful premises was met with a cold brisk woman. Who belittle the fact of us wanting a small group wedding and not prepared to accommodate us in anyway. There was no cars in the car park. We can understand why now! Service: 1 Location: 3
