This charming little pub is a true gem. The food is exceptional and made to order, so it may take some time, but it's definitely worth the wait. The staff are incredibly friendly, and the locals are very welcoming as well. There’s a great selection of beers and whiskies, all at reasonable prices. While the menu can be a bit tricky to navigate, it offers a diverse range of dishes, including plenty of vegan and vegetarian options. Parking is limited, so be prepared, and remember to bring cash, as they only accept cash payments. Overall, this is one of the best little pubs in Cumbria, and it's absolutely worth the journey.

Warning: Cash only! There isn't a cash machine handy nearby either, otherwise, this place is brilliant. It's exactly how I like my pubs, no pretence. Just great food (once you decipher the extensive menu) with generous portions at good prices. A large selection of whiskey and cider. There was a selection of beers on tap and what I had was well kept and tasty and, as far as I know, they brew their beers on site. The staff were friendly and welcoming, as were the patrons.I will be coming again.

What a fantastic spot! They serve delicious real ales, outstanding homemade pasties, and have cozy open fires. The mead selection is also quite impressive, and the unique commodes used as chairs add to the charm. It's the perfect place for a relaxing pub day with your dog!
