We got a chance to try the new fall menu and all the vegetable dishes were outstanding. Chef Zimmerman and his team's mastery of spice is phenomenal. The dressing on the Tahini salad was something we would eat everyday if it was in a bottle. The Mole sauce with the mushroom Tamale was out of this world good and the paneer Kofta was one of the best Indian dishes we have ever had (and we've been to both India and Michelin starred Indian restaurants, as well as many neighborhood ones across Chicago). The atmosphere and vibe of the restaurant were excellent. However, our server was rather unusual. She only visited our table a couple of times, while others attended to our food and water needs. Instead of appearing professional, she acted more like a cheerleader, forcing a smile and struggling to connect with the guests in a meaningful way, especially considering the upscale nature of the dining experience. We are huge fans of Proxi. We typically opt for the Chef's Menu, and this time it took us on a journey through Thailand. The variety of dishes in each course was both delightful and delicious. Our server, Ivan, recognized us from our previous visits even before we arrived, which made our evening all the more enjoyable. Ivan was exceptionally knowledgeable, providing insights about each dish and the wine pairings. It was evident that he truly loves his work, which added a special touch to our experience. We want to extend our gratitude to the entire Proxi team for a wonderful evening!

We have been to Proxi numerous times. last night we were disappointed by the food. The tempura elotes which we always order, had too much batter, not enough corn and had absorbed too much of the oil they were cooked in. The Parsi fried chicken was moist, we liked the sliced cucumber but the green sauce it was served with was not very flavorful. Each dish was somehow flawed. The food was just not as flavorful or executed as well as we have come to expect. I hope and trust it was only an off night. Reserve uma mesa agora

I have been to Proxi several times before and always left with a positive feeling. However, my most recent visit was quite disappointing. The service was slow and not up to the standards I had experienced on previous visits, and the food and ambiance were lacking as well. The overall vibe was just off. I felt let down—perhaps it was just a bad night for them. However, I likely won’t make an effort to return as I have in the past.

Greeted pleasantly by the host, seated immediately despite having a later reservation. Warm welcoming and attentive service from the entire staff.Had the house G T to start. Perfectly refreshing. Shareable plates were just the right size. Started with the mushrooms and octopus and shared the perfectly prepared branzino for our main. Dessert was a Thai tea cheesecake. Will return.

Kevin was an amazing host! He took such good care of our table and we really enjoyed him. The food was all really great, especially the smoked mushrooms and pork dish. The steak tartare was humorously small but so tasty. Definitely small plates so order a lot of options and share! We had drinks at the bar first and they were quick with service.

I love the global menu at Proxi and the wine list keeps up nicely. Of everything we ordered about 6 dishes to share among 4 people only one did not exceed expectations (grilled prawns... strange flavor combos). Service is professional and friendly and wines are reasonably priced. Loved returning here and I'll be back! Reserve uma mesa agora

A feast of layered flavors! We chose the Chef's menu and made selections based on our server's recommendations. We chose to sit outside to enjoy the last of good weather for the year but the inside looks lovely and comfortable for our next dining experience

Terrific dining experience! Flavorful dishes. Try as much as you can and share with your table. You will motivate be disappointed. Service was helpful, friendly and personable. If we lived in Chicago, we would dine here once a week, I am sure!
