R40 - Reservar mesa

Following my positive experience at R40 before, I decided to take my family there for dinner. Unfortunately, Opentable did not allow reservations for parties of more than 4. Despite trying to call the restaurant all day to make a reservation, I later discovered from their Instagram story that they had unexpectedly closed for the day without any notice. I sent an email requesting a reservation as their website suggests, but no one ever responded. With these issues, it would not surprise me if the restaurant ended up closing down. This place is world class, it could be anywhere in the world thankfully it’s here in the heart of LIC. I was lucky enough to be here with a large group, there were 5 of us. We got to taste mostly everything on the menu. Cani just say that the Choripán was the most savory appetizer I’ve had in the last 3 months, GET IT. We also had the meat and cheeseboard, the empanadas and this delicate and zesty salad. The server was excellent at guiding us through this culinary terrain. I did my study abroad in Argentina so I was familiar with a lot of the dishes, the server was patient and offered helpful opinions. I had an incredible time at this restaurant! The atmosphere was wonderful and the food was exceptional. The standout dishes were the winter truffled pasta and swordfish steak with caponata and salsa verde. I traveled from Miami just to try this restaurant and I highly recommend it. I will definitely be returning.

great food and drinks. perfect seat near the open kitchen. only the complaint is the service. our actual server has only taken over our orders and then really never came back to the table. we had empty and low drinks wine and beer glasses, which we had to ask for various employees to get another round. Not sure why this place isn’t packed every night. Going back every chance I’m in town. Priced right. Wine superb. Food phenomenal. Service great. And vibe on point. 5 stars.

I have found my new favorite spot. The staff here is incredible and gave fantastic suggestions for both food and drinks. I will definitely be returning!
