Cochem, the beautiful wine village on the Moselle, can be reached from the Moselle towards Koblenz or Trier or via the A 48 motorway. Also from the Eifel and Hunsrück there are many ways down the mountain to Cochem. There are more ways to park, the cheapest is near the train station. Through the narrow Rigs, best on the way over the “Tummelchen” with its old sugar tower, which served to guard the city border in the middle, it goes up to the castle. The Reichsburg Cochem is more than a castle. She is the largest castle in the Mosel. The strenuous steep path up compensated with a beautiful view of the Moseltal and Cochem. High above Cochem on the Mosel rises on a mighty rock, the Reichsburg wi...

The Reichsburg Cochem is a castle complex above the town of Cochem an der Mosel. It is the landmark of this city. From the castle itself you have a fantastic view of the city and the Moselle Valley. If you live in the Mosel, a visit to the Reichsburg should be part of it. The magnificent view is worth it. The museum is interesting and worth a visit. The visit of the falcons in the exterior of the castle complex is particularly impressed. The entire complex fits harmoniously into the landscape, for us a beautiful holiday memory.

The castle lies imposing over Cochem and is the destination of a small hike on the steep mountain. The tour is a little short, but the photographing and shooting is allowed. A restaurant has even moderate prices. On weekends, however, many people visit.
