Do not be put off by the way this restaurant looks from the outside. We noticed the 6 tables on the street and had a look at the menu in the window which looked interesting. When you go inside there are two open air dining rooms and a courtyard right at the back, although there is no outside view, it's really very nice. The food is excellent and obviously the chef takes great pride in what it presented at your table. The egg starters are both very good and the egg shells have the neatest opening. The fish soup is excellent and the slow roasted lamb for two is beautiful. If you enjoy Veal this is the place. They serve the best, most succulent Veal I've ever tasted. We had a week in Cassis and needless to say we had quite a few meals during that time. Without doubt our very best meal was at Angelina. Quiet, friendly table service with competent menu and wine advice. Choosing the fish soup and the slow and long roasted lamb shoulder with local wine. Truly wonderful and far more than we should have eaten...but we did ! We went for a walk around the quai after dinner before heading to bed. Cassis can be overcrowded on weekends and even during the week but most are day trippers and the evenings are very pleasant. Angelina is seriously good and definitely recommended.
You can't tell from the entrance but the dining room and courtyard where you eat inside is so pretty. The various egg dishes, especially the eggs/ouefs avec les truffles are amazing! For a gastronomic meal with unique dishes created by the chef / owner this is a must try while in Cassis.
