Restaurant Gottschalkenberg

We have a group of six adults in the restaurant at 5:25 and wanted to order ice cream. We were ignored for 10 minutes (the two servers were talking to each other) and when we thought we could finally order, we were told that they closed in 20 minutes and that it was too late to order ice. So we ordered four coffees and two hot chocolates. A few minutes later our server came back to tell us that the coffee machine was cleaned for the day and we should instead order cold drinks! At this point we left.

I've seen the other comments about the service, but I have to say that I don't agree because the service my wife and I received was excellent. We were a table of 2 and the waiter was very understanding of my attempts in German. We had 2 traditional meals with my wife with a veggie option. The food was fabulous and the dessert after it was amazing. I had ice cream that was huge. I've been here many times and it's still one of my favorites for birthdays or autumn meal after a nice hike. Five.

A good place to stop after a hike through the forest. Provides standard speed food, well made. Don't try to be anything, and that's what Kudos gets from me. Rösti in winter, bratwurst in summer, you get the idea. The staff that is friendly will not discourage if your Swiss is not the best. Many outdoor seats in summer and many interiors in every season. Did I mention the panoramic view? Not high kitchen, but traditional Swiss fare well made.

Fantastic opportunity for a great hike. After 1 h from Raten the restaurant looks very inviting. Unfortunately, they have forgotten how it was to give a decent customer service. Complaisancy took over. Number of Staff not adapted on good days. Pity for such a location

In early November, when a friend from London visited me, we went for a walk in Rats. I am very pleased to show her my favorite restaurant where I always have the best desert I ever had. My friend and I enjoyed a delicious lunch in a beautiful mountain view.
