Restaurant La Platja

Like some else said, I don’t understand the bad reviews. 4 of us had a great meal here. They put a table for us at the shady side of the restaurant as we didn’t want to sit looking straight into the sun. It was a struggle to get someone to come and attend to us to start with but once they did the waitress was friendly and helpful. The food was great and we were all satisfied when we left. The fixed price menu was a great price including wine! Wouldn’t hesitate to eat here again.

La Platja (the beach, in English) is a restaurant located in the promenade of Vilanova i la Geltrú. I came here to lunch a daily menu and enjoy with sun (really, I came here the 4th of March and it seems summer), so I sat down in the terrace. I ate the daily menu and I choose xató, a typical salad of Vilanova i la Geltrú and the region, and fideuà, a typical dish with noodles and fish. Also I drank white wine and a yogurt with strawberries. Very good daily menu and sun!

I cannot for the life of me understand the poor reviews this place is getting. The food here is ex Ellen’s local choices on a very reasonably priced menu del Dias. The staff are really good and helpful. Fish is superb we keep going back because it’s just so good.

We had a brilliant lunch here, paella super tasty, risotto delicious, desserts homemade, everything great. Service lovely and friendly and not expensive. What’s not to like!

Casual and friendly I had lunch the food was good maybe not sofisticate but for the price you couldn't ask for more, portions were large , service excellent.
