Restaurant Le Grillon

In previous years, we have always visited here as one of the few restaurants in the area that actually served a vegetarian main course a pricey veggie burger. This year was different new menus and decor upgraded, and now three vegetarian main courses listed together on the menu. We visited twice and I had a very tasty veggie burger with chips and a good salad, and a vegetable lasagne with a good salad. The price was in keeping with inflated prices everywhere. It is lovely to sit outside and watch the locals and visitors go by. We booked last minute but the restaurant were able to accommodate us with a lovely table for two outside. The service from the staff was excellent. We both ordered beef for the main course. I had an aged Entrecôte and a Charolais for my wife and it was cooked to perfection on the open charcoal grill beautifully presented. We both then had the crème brûlée which was superb and the grilled goats cheese cassoulet also very good. All in all we had a delightful experience at the Grillon.

The waiter was very attentive. However, we had to wait quite some time for a creamy Burrata salad with no Burrata at the end but instead a plain mozzarella. I guess they run out of the Burrata and it took some time to defrost the mozzarella. Of course the price was the same. It would have ben nicer to let us know. Not all tourists are dumb....

The Le Grillon Experience! One word Excellent! We had Spareribs and Pavé du Guardian assaisonne grillé! The spare ribs: a lot of meat, subtle marinated, not too much you know, and the pavé du Guardian was excellent seasoned and very tender! Great success!! Waiters were friendly and helpfull ! We would love to come again

Lovely buzzy restaurant serving locally sourced meat. Both goats cheese salad and steak frites were good. Lovely staff and made very welcome.
