Restaurant Les Sables Lo Weko Bar

Having passed this restaurant located next to the Reception office for Camping Les Sables Vignier, we 'd noticed the menus always looking interesting, varied and very sensibly priced. One really wouldn 't generally expect such excellent cuisine in a Camping venue, but this was brilliant in all respects. My wife and I chose the 3-course lunchtime Menu du Jour around 13Euros and added a demi-litre carafe of local Oleron Sauvignon Blanc, (carafe just marginally pricier than some other restaurants, but well worth the extra 10E). Our entrée was Salade Marine and we expected just a salad with a couple of bits of seafood, but this was more like a mini assiette de fruit de mer, with langousties, mou...

We had eaten here during May and rated it maximum score. When we came back in September our mouths were watering at the prospect of more great eating. This time there were six of us and we ate in the evening, rather than at lunchtime, as we had done previously. We were not disappointed. Everything was as expected. The menu was varied and inviting, the service friendly and helpful, as usual. We had a great time. Food was wonderful, atmosphere was relaxed and good-humoured. Monsieur le Chef came out to say hello and take the plaudits for the top-notch he produced, seemingly single-handedly...! Merci encore. Bien sur, nous allons revenir, fois apres fois.

We stayed five nights at the Camping Les Sables Vigners (which is also very good) and decided to have dinner at the restaurant the night before last. I had the mussels in cream, husband had a white fish we still don't know which because our French isn't that good and their English neither! Suffice to say both dishes were delicious. So much so we went back the following night for Confit de Canard and grilled Camembert. The first could have been a little warmer, but the latter was very good. I also recommend the créme brulé, one of the best I've ever eaten. A bit pricey at dinner time, but definitely worth it.

Excellent food, fresh, home made and from here. I love this restaurant. Big quality for a reasonable price. Very sympatic service.

Very good menus. Very fresh and delicious. Quality/price perfect. Large choice between good pizzas and gastronomie.
