for the third time we visited the restaurant villa sophienhöhe within five years and looked forward to a nice Christmas menu. so far we were always very fond of ambiente, service and eating. Unfortunately, it was a single disappointment today.The first floor came very fast, almost at the same time with the brot and a delicious crimson jar. the "roasted maron foam soup with garnelenspieß" was less a foam than more a thickened cream and tastefully disappointing. maron soup can taste so fine and is so easy to prepare, a little cognac to taste, maybe some nelling and cinnamon, but the suppe has tasted after nothing but was just pappy.After almost 80 minutes (!!!) wait time came the second floor,...

we celebrated our high time in the villa sophienhöhe on 27.08.2011 and were thrilled. with the new kitchen duo herr raw and herr cogliano, the sophienhöhe has landed a full hit. the buffet was tasteful as well as visually excellent. the service was excellent. all wishes were fulfilled immediately. the villa itself is a dream and the rooms are spacious and lovingly furnished.But even off the high season it is worth visiting the sophienhöhe. the kitchen is worth every driveway, is original and exquisite. also the events taking place in regular intervals, such as the kitchen party, are lovingly designed and a high pleasure.We can only recommend the sophienhöhe warmly and thank herrn raw and her...

the old stylish villa with the furniture from ancient times, adds the visitor to a magical atmosphere. a very nice terrace with views into the green makes lust to enjoy a summer evening here. eating is excellent, but not too expensive, because for that the gast gets much. such locals have a rareness, especially since gymnich has not been offering gastronomy for many years. Whoever seeks this special will find it here. from the car, only half an hour away. close to the semi-trailer, but at the we there is probably no flight.

the ambiente and the history promise much more - eating (steak and salmon) were tasty, so in order. otherwise we experienced an average evening. Although announced as a birthday dinner, attention remained - no word, no special table ... we met bourgeoisity - simple cherry, simple table decoration and no creative presentation of eating.

the restaurant is too expensive for what it offers. is part of a hotel in the same building. the restaurant is quite odd. not directly recommended.
