PROS:This former Presbyterian century-old church was renovated by the previous owners. (See my photos) The charm still remains. You walk in through exposed stone walls and are met by a staircase under which water runs continuously. Looking up you look straight into the former sanctuary and a very airy eating area on two levels. Looking down, you have a cozy basement area with restored church pews as booths. A friend and I ate in the upper level. The wood stairs, beams, original window shapes were all kept. The chicken Caesar salad looked appetizing but lacked the complex flavors of garlic, anchovies, lemon, and black pepper, and had rubbery mozzarella cheese instead of parmesan. The burger was tasty but small, served on a brioche bun. The fries were good, but not as delicious as traditional Quebec French fries. The singer's performance, while good, was distracting and unnecessary for a Saturday evening dinner service. Overall, the decor was nice and the food was good but not exceptional. The renovated church has a stunning atmosphere with three levels inside. I was immediately overwhelmed when I entered. On a Saturday night, Valleyfield requires reservations for the top five restaurants. We have been here for an hour and a half and the place is only half full. This speaks volumes about the establishment. The food is pricey for fast food. The photos and menu speak for themselves. Two chicken nuggets and fries for $17? I won't be returning. The waitstaff have to climb three flights of stairs but provide excellent service.

Wow, I just discovered my new favorite burger at this restaurant. It is topped with goat cheese, roasted red peppers, and bacon! The interior is beautiful, with a modern design that contrasts nicely with its historic background. The food is excellent and the atmosphere is fantastic, making it perfect for any occasion.
