River Quay Fish - Reservar uma mesa

The location of River Quay Fish in Southbank, Brisbane, overlooking the river and city, is fantastic. The layout allows for a nice flow from inside to out, catching lovely breezes from the river on warm evenings. It's a pleasant spot to sit and watch the people go by. However, the food and service do not meet the standards set by the picturesque location. Despite being on a quiet Saturday evening with only a handful of diners, we experienced long waits for service. The food, while decent, had some flaws - the Fish Taco plate needed a better sauce, the prawns in the deconstructed prawn cocktail were overcooked, and the sweet chilli sauce for the Moreton Bay Bug main was not a good match. We booked online and received a confirmation but unfortunately upon arrival there was no booking for us. I was told I hadn't booked but upon showing the confirmation on my phone a table was found! No apology but that being said the location was great , the food was ok (except the fish of the day in beer batter was quite undercooked and rubbery) and everything was very over salted but my flathead was nicely cooked. Our waitress was pleasant and did apologise when we were charged for something we ordered but were told had run out. All in all it was fine.

I had a great dining experience at this charming restaurant by the Brisbane River. Although the menu is not extensive, it offers some interesting options. The fish tacos were absolutely delicious, but I was a bit disappointed with the tempura flathead as the batter was not quite what I expected. The staff were delightful and very efficient. I would recommend asking for cold tap water on a hot day as it is more refreshing than lukewarm water.

Service second to none , advice and knowledge of menu great , two mains the fish cooked a little too much , I will dine at river quay again very nice

Good service, food was great only disappointment was that the wine we wanted was sold out and what was left was sub-standard for our tastes.
