Robin's Nest Cafe And Bakery

A-OK, as in nothing to write home about. I was pretty bummed about this, because I had heard all of the rad reviews, and was proud that the Village Bean oh how I detested you finally left. The service at the Bean was snobby, and that's not the case at Robin's Nest. My barista ? was sweet and got my order ready fairly quickly... but the food itself wasn't that great. I ordered a bagel plain, grilled with butter and it wasn't really grilled. More or less warmed up. Plenty of butter. My medium hot chocolate came from a packet, and wasn't mixed all the way, which was a bummer. For these two items, the cost was 4.90$ which was pretty steep. At least they have Allie's Donuts on the weekends, which...

I noticed they had a 'Help Wanted ' sign on the front, so I went in to apply. I asked for an application and was immediately screamed at. Maybe the owner was having a bad day, I don 't know. But one should never take it out on a future employee or better yet a customer! I later got the job and turned it down because i refuse to work in such a hostile, unhealthy environment. My boyfriend also stopped in there on a separate occasion to order a turkey sandwich and and it took about 15 minutes for him to get it. A cold sandwich. We were both disappointed with the service here.

Great little spot to stop for lunch. I'm thrilled to see a local restaurant with some delicious choices for vegetarians. I've only been for lunch but it has byob dinners several nights a week also. They have some great prepared cold salads, sesame noodle is my favorite but there's also a very good quinoa and root vegetable salad. Her homemade hummus is a standout as well.

Trying to be as fair as possible but there is not a lot of goid to be said about my experience there last night. There was only 5 tables being served and dinner took 2 hours to be served. It came out Luke warm and both my wife and I were sick after. The chicken was rubbery and veal was not fresh and heavy.

Were traveling through from Wisconsin, and we made a pit stop at Robin's Nest. Service was excellent, the food was fresh and delicious and the price affordable. Definitely keeping this as a favorite place to stop.
