We had heard that the food here was surprisingly good (given it's village location in sleepy Herts , so we booked in for a Friday night dinner in January! We normally go into London but thought we would try local! It did NOT disappoint. The service and food were extraordinary. We ordered some bread and olives expecting the usual fair… what arrived were artisan olives and a homemade sour dough with whipped butter. An outstanding start. I had Ham Hock Terrine and sea bream with the most ridiculously deicious roast potatoes as a side. My husband had the burger (reported to be was delicious. The sea bream dish needs it's own focus. It was light yet full of flavour with the leek and mussel sauce...
