Today we were at the Roundabout in Montabaur.. We went there with a lot of anticipation because we know the restaurant from before... Unfortunately we were very disappointed... The place is dirty and rocky! The chairs and bench covers were torn, the tables were smeared, listlessly decorated, everything was just slapped together somehow. The menu promises a lot. We ordered different dishes and were unfortunately disappointed. Sorry, but that really wasn't that good. We were there with 15 people on a Tuesday in December. When I walked in I thought, oh, train station atmosphere. It was quite crowded and the aisles were very narrow with chairs. The service staff seemed new or untrained. Sometimes you couldn't understand anything or the service didn't understand anything. The side salad was great, the schnitzel with mushroom cream sauce was good, but the sauce was a bit thin and the taste was only ok. We waited almost 2 hours for the food. That was really too long. The quality of the food did not meet our expectations, especially given the comparatively high prices. The meat was tough, the food wasn't very tasty, and unfortunately not fresh either. The service was also disappointing as drinks were forgotten and the response to our questions was unfriendly. Even the coffee served was cold. Unfortunately, my intolerances could not be adequately addressed. There are undoubtedly more recommendable alternatives in the area. The overall experience was disappointing, especially regarding the freshness of the food. The impression that the dishes were freshly prepared was completely missing. The food seemed rather bland and didn't seem to meet the standards for fresh ingredients. In addition to this disappointment, the service was not attentive and the response to our concerns was less than responsive. We were here for the first time today. The waitresses were very nice and quick. I can personally highly recommend food. It is freshly cooked in an open kitchen and beautifully presented. Gladly again! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
