The atmosphere and decor of the restaurant were lovely, creating a pleasant vibe, and the staff were friendly and attentive. However, the miso soup was quite salty, and the tofu lacked softness—I'd recommend skipping it. The seaweed salad, while visually appealing, was rather dull in flavor and didn't have much seaweed. The dressing felt off, lacking the necessary vinegar kick to balance the sourness of the green papaya. I suggest passing on that as well and focusing on the sushi instead. Ryu has to be one of the gold standars for Sushi in Montreal. What I really liked about the Ste-Catherine st. location apart from the great sushi is the ambiance, it 's a relaxed ambiance, their other locations seem to be more lively .Had some wonderful sushi, salmon, shrimp, tuna, all very fresh. The sushi is priced based on the distance the raw fish travels from Japan. They don’t serve traditional fried tempura here; in fact, nothing is fried at all. It costs around $6 for a bowl, offering a unique experience to enjoy the decor and appreciate the service. However, I personally prefer more traditional options that come with a lower price point.
