San Michele - Reservar uma mesa

about 2 years ago I ate in this restaurant and I had a pleasing very good dinner. When I went back from my trip to Italy, I decided to go back here. that was a big, massive mistake. what a total dismay! the appetizers of...small pizza slices should have been there this time. they were thick and very doughy. not delicious. I ordered the risotto. which is for a night mouse. boiled, very grainy and without taste. for sekundi I ordered fish. another catastrophe. the fish was cooked to almost cellular. potaties and vegetables floated in oil. On my way back to Holland I stayed for 1 night in Ponte Tresa and had dinner at Ristorante San Michel. We arrived quite late. First impression was not good. Many guests were already enjoying their deserts and they looked like cheap ice scoped on...a plate. The restauarant looks outdated, somewhere stuck in the 80's, pffff I guess we'll survive. Boy were we wrong. We took a salad, how exciting can it get? This one was really good. Full taste and lots of variety. Main course was risotto with Ossobuco. Amazing. Wonderful and realy tasty. my family and I decided to stop in this restaurant for an informal dinner at a late, sunny afternoon. we were the first customers. I had the silly, although honest, I would like to tell the staff we just wanted to start a few, maybe followed by one. ice cream. Therefore we were not allowed to sit on the terrace so we were held in a corridor, got our dinner (at least that was good) and asked for the check. What a surprise I never imagined to pay so much for the food we ordered and not allowed to sit in a beautiful place. very disappointing!

we had a break here on a bike tour in tessin. the staff was polite and eating was right, even if it was quite expensive for what we got. the pasta was good, but nothing special. pizzas looked great. worldwide was an average restaurant. I probably wouldn't stop again.

they serve excellent pizza, but also a lot of other foods. we chose seasonal dishes of deer and wild boar. they were good, but not as good as their pizza.
