Schwanenstuble - Reservar mesa

Six of us ate here the night we arrived from the Seattle. We were tired and very hungry. We went here upon a recommendation from the hotel receptionist and she did good. This was a fantastic introduction to the cuisine of the region and German...hospitality in general. My command of the German Language remains minimal but was unneeded here. The manager described each dish and was very tolerant of questions. Most of us had a daily special of special locally made sausages with sauerkraut. Excellent. We were full but just had to have some apple strudel. We hav no trouble finishing those plates! If you visit Markdorf I recommend Schwanenstuble.

This place has been a solid go-to restaurant since my childhood, and Rudi Oexle is not just a great cook, but he also is a cordial, kind man. I usually order Flaedlesuppe followed by a delicious Zwiebelrostbraten, with a glass of light Bodensee whitewine. Everything...is regional, and the portions are solid. They pack you a goodie bag with your leftovers if you want. Also check out the local spirits, Senft that they serve. Delicious Pear Schnapps and even Bodensee Gin. I heard that Rudi wants to close the restaurant, as he is not the youngest any more. It will be hard, but until then, I urge everyone to eat there!

Being able to eat the food made by legendary chef Rudi Öxle with experience and expertise of over years in the kitchen is uncomparable! The cuisine is simple, traditional, tasty dishes of Southern Germany according to the season, ingredients are coming from the area....Big size portions, with refill of side dishes and sauces without asking. Great list of local wines and spirits, aperitifs and desserts. The service is quick, polite and attentive, no matter how full the restaurant and the chef always makes rounds to look after the guests personally! I can only recommend this!

The vegetarien and normal maultaschen had no taste at all. The best on it were the roasted onions, the rest tasted like sponge sooked in warm water, tastless. Also the potatosalat which came with a side dish was out of the league, not like it...should be in a good restaurant. Last, but not least is the disturbing, unpleasant noise level in the restaurant. We had a late diner here last night and were greated very pleasantly by the owner/chef and staff. We ordered tomato soup and schnitzel. The tomato soup was very well flavoured, we got schnitzels each, cooked to perfection. They served plenty of fries and...salad with that. A very lovely meal in a very lovely environment. We would definitely go back.

Delicious and good quality food and huge portions. The schnitzel was delicious and the staff were very accommodating. Despite our language problems they made us and the children feel very welcome. On sunny days the tables outside get booked up quickly.

The restaurant serves good traditional food. There is an English menu. The chef came out from the kitchen to ask each table how the food was. Everyone at our table enjoyed what they ordered. I would highly recommend this restaurant.

We spent a wonderful week in Markdorf and ate here, enjoyed it so much we came back on our last night. The almonds on the fish, were fab, steaks were delicious. The staff were very warm and friendly. Reserve uma mesa agora

A nice meal. Had to have a meal here as hotel restaurant closed. Had three course meal which was tasty and well prepared but simple. The service was real good and attentive. Good place for a meal b

Just order the Bodensee trout in almond butter. This is a great restaurant right in the town square in Markdorf.
